Work Progresses on Eastern Green

After many years preparatory work on behalf of Hallam Land Management, detailed community consultation and masterplanning work can now progress on Eastern Green, which has been allocated for as a Sustainable Urban Extension following its release from the Green Belt in the 2017 Coventry Local Plan.

FPCR have prepared all the necessary environmental analysis and preliminary masterplanning work to demonstrate the practical delivery of the major mixed use site off the A45 Birmingham Road at Pickford Green. In particular, they prepared a Green Belt study which showed that release of the land would have no significant effect upon the Meridan Gap between Coventry and Birmingham.

The site has typical Warwickshire landscape characteristics of well established diverse hedgerows with hedgerow oak trees. FPCR’s “ground up” approach to masterplanning will ensure that these form the basis of a new green infrastructure framework defining discrete development neighbourhoods. In addition, major green spaces will be created along the central Slipperside Brook and along the western fringe of the site at Pickford Green.

The site will form an important new Gateway to Coventry approaching the City along the A45
