Tom Bennett, Associate Director (Arboriculture), appeared on the BBC 1 wildlife series Countryfile over the weekend. Tom was filmed as part of the episode covering the history and wildlife at Rutland Water.
This episode showcases the work carried out by Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust with their volunteers, friend, partners and reserve team. Tom was leading a team of Bat Ecologists from Leicestershire & Rutland Bat Group, Derbyshire Bat Group and Staffordshire Bat Group as part of a long term study of Nathusius’ pipistrelle bats which are resident to Rutland Water but also believed to use the reservoir as a stop off on their migration to and from Europe.
