Consent was recently granted following a public inquiry in December 2022, for up to 80 homes and a local centre in the village of Cotford St Luke, Somerset West & Taunton, for Hallam Land Management. The scheme comes at a valuable time as local housing delivery is suppressed by an ongoing phosphates issue affecting much of the county. Through an arrangement to fallow nearby agricultural land under the same control, our team was able to ensure nutrient neutrality is achieved and delivery can commence. Advanced landscape planting had been provided assisting landscape integration. FPCR provided masterplanning, landscape and ecology advise. Gary Holliday gave evidence at the appeal on landscape, and Kurt Goodman on ecology and nutrient neutrality. The decision can be read here.
