The results of our 5th Phil Rech Positivity awards are out. The awards are named after Phil, who led the environmental side of the practice with never ending positivity for many years. We remember Phil with these awards and celebrate those in the practice now, who just go that bit further, support their colleagues, and just generally make FPCR an even better place to work. It was great that so many people were nominated by their colleagues, the winners are listed below.
Ame Hernandez Marquez – “Always a calming presence that is needed during those stressful times when all the deadlines are due at the same time, and is willing to help whenever possible!”
Andy Brennan – “Always friendly, positive, kind and ready to listen and offer help when needed. He takes time out to check everyone is happy in the team and listens openly to ideas. He gives me confidence to take on challenging work, knowing that I’m supported. He’s a great team leader and manager.”
Charlie Raby – “Has been a great addition to our small team. He’s settled in well over the summer and is bright and cheery, making a joke and engaging with everyone in the office. It’s a pleasure having him around.”
Elliott Hardy – “Despite everything he has to do for everyone all of the time, he is always remarkably calm and positive! ….And ensures that we are all able to do what we need to do! …..And he has had to deal with the new Access system!”
Emma Wright – “Despite facing some extremely tough personal situations this year Emma has always found time to be an amazing colleague and friend. I’m continually impressed and inspired by how resilient she is. Emma is always willing to support the team in anyway she can and she always goes out of her way to help anyone who needs it. While dealing with her own workload she’s organised the team as our main scheduler and has been a huge help supporting me with my own projects. Emma’s an invaluable member of our team and we’re exceptionally lucky to have her.”
Hayley Hurst – “Always has the time to respond to a question and goes above and beyond to help those that need it, even when she is really busy.”
Iza Meehan – “Such a helpful and kind member of the team, nothing is ever too much trouble for her no matter how demanding the clients are or how many plates she is already spinning…AND she manages to remain very calm.”
James Ablewhite – “Able to hold so many balls in the air without getting stressed, and is always quick to help members of the team if they are struggling or unsure. His unstinting cheerfulness, especially of late whilst playing a central role in the development and implementation of the new practice management software in addition to his usual tasks, is a huge blessing to those of us who work with him.”
Jamie Moden – “Always willing to make time for you if you need help or advice despite being incredibly busy himself. His calm manner is contagious and a complete lifeline during stressful periods.”
Jenna Hughes – “Always really helpful and available to help on a moments notice which has proven invaluable on many occasions.”
John Mellor – “He is always willing to help, no matter how busy he is, he always makes some time to guide you and to make you feel heard. He always provides useful and positive feedback and whenever he answers teams calls he seems very happy and that is always nice to see. His laugh also makes me laugh so when he’s in the office it’s funny to hear him laugh.”
Jon Godfrey – “Continues to produce excellent work on residential layouts / masterplans. His technical knowledge and high quality of work is much appreciated by the whole team! Very well done!!”
Justyna Serafin – “She’s always extremely positive and super helpful. She’s happy to ask questions and is always keen to try new things. She works extremely hard, always has a smile and makes a real effort to contribute in every way.”
Kate Barnes – “I don’t think I’ve ever met someone so unshakable. Kate is always calm, clear and reasoned. She brings an aura of positivity and pragmatism to any problem. She really is a delight to work with.”
Leah Merricks – “I’ve been working with Leah on the access implementation project and her can do attitude and attention to detail is amazing. There hasn’t been a task that she hasn’t taken on head first and got to.”
Lydia-Rose Cox – “With her organisational skills and calm and considered manner she manages to resolve most problems before they even start.”
Michael Samuels – “Went out of his way to help me prepare for the pathway exam, even offering time outside of work to talk over things as work time was too busy. Very grateful for his support!”
Rebecca Croxson – “Remains positive even up against some challenging deadlines. She has a passion for the profession and learning new things which is a really positive thing to be around.”
Rebecca Smeeton – “Always willing to offer to help out. Deals with a lot of queries from clients.
Hasn’t been the easiest year for her, but still comes in and able to put on a brave face for a lot of it. Always in early and doing extra to help try help keep on top of the workload.”
Sam Lockhart – “Sheffield’s very own ‘yes’ man when it comes to picking up new jobs and helping others regardless of how much he has already taken on. Always brings positivity and is a valued member of the team.”
Sophie Bracken – “Always happy to help with anything, from helping out with surveys or answering questions anyone in the team may have, whether she is familiar with the site or not. Sophie has project managed a large number of projects including some large and complicated sites this year and has not let it sway her positive approach and sunny disposition. Sophie also often checks in on members of the team, both socially and from a work perspective, and always has a smile or positive angle to offer. She is a great asset to the team in Dorking and to the company.”
