Residential development for up to 1000 homes at Basingstoke Golf Club has been approved in outline with detailed plans now well underway. Accessed from Winchester Road, the scheme will include a new Local Centre and public open space with play areas and sports facilities.
On behalf of Bloor Homes (southern office), FPCR were responsible for the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment carried out as part of the overall Environmental Impact Assessment work.
The site is adjacent to the Kennel Farm and Hatchwarren developments, both of which FPCR had significant involvement in since the 1980s having masterplanned the schemes and provided all landscape related work. Our long-term association with the local area meant that the Practice had a sound understanding of the golf club site context which was particularly helpful in terms of selecting key viewpoints.
