This gateway residential development of 450 dwellings has recently received planning approval in Boroughbridge from Harrogate Borough Council. FPCR provided Landscape, Ecology and Arboricultural services for the 24ha site.

The masterplan provides a range of outdoor community facilities for residents to enjoy.  The site hosts a large village green and pond, a community orchard, a variety of play provision, informal green spaces and green links, foot and cycle way connections in addition to a 4ha area of open space which has been protected for ‘community use.’

The development area is located on southern edge of Boroughbridge and in close proximity to Aldborough Roman Town Scheduled Ancient Monument.  The scheme that we proposed responded to the setting and highlights how a considered approach to master planning allows Local Authorities to approve applications in sensitive landscape settings.
