Our bake-off challenge culminated in the showstopper challenge! Weekly baking challenges have run over 4 weeks, with our very own star baker Sophie Entwisle setting the challenges. At the end of each challenge, staff voted for their favourite bake.

Johanna was our first winner during Halloween week, with her eight-eyed spider cake (topical, given the recent rediscovery of Great fox-spider on MoD land in Surrey!)

Next up was Bonfire week, when Harriet delivered a worthy winner with her flaming-hot cake decorated with caramel shards.

A truly-impressive entry from Ellie smashed the competition in Barmy Bread week with her star bread.

One of our Ecologists, Hayley, baked a scrumptious chocolate number for Showstopper week, complete with burrowing badgers. Very on-point!

All will be receiving their Bake off ‘Stand up to Cancer’ matching oven gloves and tea towels, and have the admiration of the team for their baking talent. Well done to our worthy winners!
