The appeal for up to 180 dwellings at Pear Tree Lane Euxton, Chorley has been allowed, following one of the first virtual planning Inquiries, held through “Lockdown”. FPCR provided the masterplanning, landscape, ecology and arboricultural consultancy for Gladman developments, and Gary Holliday and Dr Suzanne Mansfield gave evidence at the virtual appeal. Inspector Mike Hayden noted that the “The LVA provides a robust analysis of the landscape and visual impacts of the proposed development” and that the proposed development “would be likely to result in a net gain in biodiversity”. He concluded that the proposal “would comply with the principles for protecting and enhancing habitats and biodiversity in paragraph 175 of the Framework”.
