Parks and Open Spaces
We work on historic and contemporary parks, providing landscape design and environmental services to both private and public sector clients.
We have a wealth of experience developing proposals for historic parks, generating designs for environmental improvements, undertaking assessments, and developing strategies for future management and maintenance. At Highfields Park, Nottingham, FPCR prepared a comprehensive package of restoration and regeneration proposals. The practice have delivered a number of successful Heritage Lottery Funded schemes, such as Matlock Parks, which involved the restoration and enhancement of the historical landscape, conservation and improvements to habitats and features of ecological significance, improvements to accessibility, and provision of interpretation.
As a multi-disciplinary practice, we have the technical know-how and design flair to generate proposals for creation or regeneration of contemporary parks, including country parks and community parks. We can provide input through each stage of a scheme, from feasibility studies and landscape design, through to planning application, and we also provide contract administration services at implementation stage.
Our services cover a range of facilities and open space typologies, including play areas, sports pitches, habitat creation, biodiversity enhancement, community facilities, parking and accessibility improvements.
