Minerals and Waste
We have provided environmental assessment and landscape design services for a broad range of minerals and waste proposals in various forms, such as surface mining, coal processing plants, deep mines, quarries, mineral reclamation, and energy from waste plants (or Energy Recovery Facilities).
As a multi-disciplinary practice, we are able to provide the combined skills necessary for the creative and technical input into projects at all stages including feasibility, renewal of permissions, new applications, habitat restoration and alternative new uses for previous minerals and waste sites.
The practice uses specialist software to support visual impact assessments, which we can use to help generate photomontages and Zones of Theoretical Visibility (ZTV).
FPCR produced the SPD on the ‘Location and Design for Major Waste Management Proposals’ in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. The SPD provides easy to follow guidance for developers and public authorities, and was awarded a Landscape Institute Award.
