Historic Landscapes

FPCR has a strong track record of delivering schemes that are sensitively designed, and respond to the historic landscape character. We also undertake Landscape Character Assessment of historic landscapes.

We work closely with Historic England, local authorities and other stakeholders, undertaking consultation as required to ensure emerging design proposals respond to their historic setting. We have successfully master-planned development schemes in sensitive locations such as Shottery, Stratford Upon Avon, which lies close to Anne Hathaway’s Cottage (Grade I Listed), Registered Park and Garden of Special Historic Interest (Grade II listed) and the Conservation Area of Shottery. At West of Loughborough, FPCR have prepared proposals for the historic Garendon Park to be restored, and become a gateway public open space for the local community. On Heritage Lottery funded projects, such as Matlock Parks and Lincoln Parks, FPCR prepared detailed landscape proposals to restore and enhance the historical landscape. We also prepare Conservation Management Plans for historic landscapes, such as Highfields Park in Nottingham.
