Planning committee voted unanimously to approve the 10 hectare landscaping scheme, which is the first phase of the 170 hectare sustainable urban extension on the southern edge of Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. 

The Green Infrastructure (GI) proposals will create multi-functional green spaces and corridors which enhance biodiversity, provide opportunities for play and recreation, incorporate sustainable drainage features, provide opportunities for community use, and establish a pleasant and safe landscaped setting to the proposed development areas.

Work has already started on the highways infrastructure, and the initial phase will also incorporate housing by Avant Homes, Barratt Homes, David Wilson Homes and Bellway. The landscaping works are anticipated to commence this autumn/ winter.
