An outline application for up to 50 dwellings in Biddenden, Kent was allowed at appeal on 30th November for Gladman Developments Ltd. FPCR provided Masterplanning, Landscape, Ecology and Arboricultural services. Design was particularly important to the scheme, with studies of local farmsteads used to inform the layout, varying road widths that reduced the dominance of cars, courtyard clusters surrounded by lots of landscape, community allotments and orchards. Our masterplanners worked with the inhouse arboriculture team on the design to enable the several veteran specimens and other trees of high quality to be fully integrated into the layout seeing their future management safeguarded.
