FPCR recently had the pleasure of attending the PhD Careers Fair hosted by the University of Leeds, which also welcomed researchers from the University of York and the University of Sheffield.
The fair gave us the chance to connect with passionate PhD students and early researchers, exploring how their skills, knowledge, and fresh perspectives can shape the future of environmental planning, design, and sustainability.
Two of our Ecology Directors, Georgina Palmer and Jude Dorward were on hand throughout the event to answer questions, share insights from practice, and engage in meaningful conversations with students about their career paths. Their discussions highlighted the exciting opportunities for researchers to apply their expertise in real-world contexts and make a lasting impact.
At FPCR, we believe growth comes not only from the work we deliver but also from the people who make it possible. Engaging with such bright and motivated individuals reminded us of the importance of investing in the next generation, helping them take their research beyond academia and into practice where it can create real change.
We’re grateful to the University of Leeds for bringing together such an inspiring community and to every student who shared their stories and aspirations with us. Supporting emerging talent is an important part of our journey, and we’re excited to see where these connections may lead.
