Ashbourne Pavilion Memorial plaque unveiled

Over the Jubilee weekend, the new memorial plaque was unveiled at The Pavilion, Ashbourne, during a lovely peaceful ceremony on a bright sunny day. The plaque (created by Leander Architectural), and the building it adorns, were both designed by FPCR’s architecture team. Special thanks to Ashbourne Royal British Legion for assisting in providing the names of the great men from the parish of Ashbourne who gave their lives in the Second World War for whom the plaque remembers.

The Pavilion  replaces a dilapidated mid-century memorial pavilion with a modern facility that serves the local sporting teams through new changing rooms and the local community at large via a new clubroom served by bar and kitchen. It has already seen much success since it’s launch in February this year, and once again provided a centrepiece for the Jubilee celebrations for the music festival on the rec that followed. It is wonderful to see our designs being fully utilised by the community of Ashbourne!
