The residential scheme, submitted to Oadby and Wigston Borough Council by Co-op, achieved a resolution to grant outline planning permission at committee. FPCR were appointed by Co-op to undertake the masterplanning for the site on Gartree Road, Oadby, commencing in 2016 with a production of a Vision Document to promote the site through the Local Plan process. Subsequently we produced a set of parameters plan and Design & Access Statement as part of the planning submission. In addition, FPCR also prepared a Landscape and Visual Appraisal.
The 310 homes will be set within a comprehensive green infrastructure network, comprising existing woodland, proposed drainage attenuation, and a watercourse. The proposed layout had due consideration to the setting of two listed cottages at Stoughton Grange, and historic parkland associated with the former mansion.
