FPCR`s expertise on Strategic Rail Freight Interchanges continues – with 2 Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) recently accepted for examination by the Planning Inspectorate. The Northampton Gateway and West Midlands Interchange SRFIs follow FPCR`s involvement on successful Development Consent Orders for the East Midlands Gateway and DIRFT III SRFIs in recent years.

The Northampton Gateway and West Midlands Interchange SRFIs have been designed to increase the efficiency of freight distribution, taking freight traffic off motorways and trunk roads and onto the rail network. Both projects include substantial conserved and proposed Green Infrastructure and will deliver other significant environmental benefits. The projects will be examined by the Planning Inspectorate over coming months.
