Our Bat Ecologist Featured in Wildlife Trust magazine

Wild Derbyshire Magazine

An interview with Steve Roe about being a young conservationist and how he got into the wonderful world of bats.

The latest edition of the Derbyshire Wildlife Trust (DWT) magazine “Wild Derbyshire” and spring edition of the Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) magazine “Bat News” both feature pieces about our recently promoted senior bat ecologist, Steve Roe. Steve was asked to write the main bat article ‘a guide to Derbyshire’s bats’ in the DWT magazine as he has been involved with the Derbyshire Bat Conservation Group for over 16 years and is currently their vice-chair. The rear cover of the magazine also has a photo of Steve out in the field undertaking his autumn swarming research project which is now in its fourth year. The BCT article is an interview with Steve about being a young conservationist and how he got into the wonderful world of bats! One of our senior bat ecologists, Steve leads the advanced bat survey techniques and provides survey advice to the ecology department’s growing team of ecologists.
