Our Principal Ecologist Steve Roe presents and produces the Bat Conservation Trust’s podcast BatChat in his spare time which has just been nominated for an award by the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). The CIEEM NGO Impact Award is given to non-governmental organisations that have delivered a project or initiative that has made a significant difference to the conservation of the natural environment.
Steve makes the show out on location joining bat workers and ecologists up and down the country showcasing bat conservation projects and transports listeners with him into the field giving them the sounds of the natural world, bats and voluntary work taking place up and down the country, directly into the ears of its audience.
BatChat is shortlisted alongside the Mammal Society’s Red List for Britain’s Mammals and UKHab’s UK Habitat Classification. Winners will be announced at a ceremony on 19th October 2021.
