Cranbrook New Town, Exeter – which is one of FPCR’s large scale landscape projects – recently hosted Stage 2 of the prestigious OVO Energy Cycling Tour of Britain. Setting off from Cranbrook, cyclists completed the 175km stage across the Devon countryside before finishing in Barnstaple.
The practice have been involved in the delivery of Cranbrook New Town for a number of years having been appointed by the Cranbrook New Community Consortium (Hallam Land Management Ltd, Persimmon, and Taylor Wimpey) as the project’s landscape architects.
FPCR have prepared Landscape & Visual Impacts Assessments, Green Infrastructures Strategies, Landscape Masterplans, Photomontages, Management Plans and Design Codes. Our detailed landscape design services have included producing reserved matters applications and contract administration of the scheme’s green infrastructure and public realm.
The early phases of Cranbrook are now completed with the new community comprise some 3,500 new homes, a local centre, Country Park, secondary school and a new railway station. Ultimately, Cranbrook will deliver in the order of 8,000 new homes, together with a mix of uses for sustainable living.
