We are thrilled that Basingstoke and Deane Development Committee voted in favour of a full planning application for a 218,000sqm logistics hub, just off Junction 7 M3 J7. This comes just weeks after residential development for up to 1000 homes at Basingstoke Golf Club was approved in outline.
The scheme comprises a distribution unit, yard, car-parking and access roads, set within green infrastructure. This comprises the first phase of Basingstoke Gateway, on the southern edge of the town, being developed by our client Newlands Developments. FPCR provided expertise on the Landscape and Visual, Biodiversity and Trees, with Ecology and Landscape + Visual included as chapters within the Environmental Statement.
As part of the planning submission, we prepared several photomontages, to demonstrate that the proposal would result in limited impact on the setting of nearby settlements.
Our multi-disciplinary approach worked well, as landscape proposals were developed in conjunction with requirements for biodiversity, ensuring that the sufficient net gain was achieved.
