FPCR were pleased to have been involved in securing planning permission for a development at Ashgate House Care Home, Chesterfield, who provide nursing and residential care for patients over 65 with Dementia.
Our Landscape and Ecology Teams undertook LVA (Landscape and Visual Assessment) and Ecology Surveys for the proposals which included the construction of a stand-alone unit providing 25 additional rooms, social areas and kitchen and dining facilities, set within enhanced landscaping on the lower grounds of Ashgate House. The building was designed to be partially buried into an existing slope so as to limit impact to the surrounding landscape and maintain views from the existing building on site into the wider countryside.
Due to the sensitive location on the edge of the Peak District National Park, photomontages were undertaken in order to better understand the effects the proposals would have on the surrounding countryside and National Park.
