Royal Town Planning Institute Best Project of the Year Winner 2023 – Category: Excellence in Planning for Communities (small schemes under 50)
FPCR provided ecological and landscape design input into the design and delivery of the award-winning development of the former Beeston railway goods yard. This former brownfield site has been redeveloped to provide 42 affordable energy-efficient homes, gardens and soft landscaping.
FPCR were commissioned by ilke Homes, a modular housing company, in partnership with East Midlands Housing Association (EMHA), Network Rail and Broxtowe Borough Council to: undertake an ecological appraisal of the site, to facilitate the proposals by securing a low impact bat licence, and to provide specifications for ecological enhancement across the site. Our Landscape Architecture team additionally provided detailed soft landscaping plans to deliver a diverse and attractive setting for the scheme.
