The Arboriculture department spent a very interesting couple of days attending the 2nd Trees People and the Built Environment conference; hosted by the Institute of Chartered Foresters at Birmingham University.
The conference provided the opportunity for our team to hear from many leading and visionary speakers from around the world within the Forestry and Arboricultural professions but also many other disciplines such as Architecture, Engineering and sociology.
The conference highlighted the importance that we all have in the planning process to encourage the greening of developments and urban areas. A great keynote speech was given by Nick Grayson, Birmingham City Council, which gave a different perspective and approach as to why trees, woodlands and green spaces are important components of our urban environments.
