Kate has 12 years’ experience of habitat and protected species surveys, working throughout the UK on a wide range of development schemes.

Kate is a qualified surveyor proficient across a variety of practical ecology field skills including Phase I habitat assessment, hedgerow survey, Farm Environment Plan (FEP) survey and targeted protected species surveys including mammals, amphibians and reptiles.  Whist her main interest is in botanical survey, Kate also holds several protected species licences (including great crested newt and bat) and is qualified to undertake aerial inspections of trees.

Kate is an experienced project manager which requires frequent liaison with statutory and non-statutory bodies such as Local Authorities, Natural England and the Wildlife Trusts, particularly with regard to input into planning objections and protected species licensing.

Further written experience includes the preparation of Ecological Appraisals, Protected Species reports, Management Plans and Mitigation packages for both floral and faunal species.  Kate also has extensive knowledge in the production of a range BREEAM assessments, including commercial, education and healthcare schemes.
