About us

Fiona Nye is an Associate Landscape Architect with over 20 years’ post-chartership experience delivering landscape design projects from concept through to completion. Before joining FPCR, she worked within an architectural practice across all RIBA stages, contributing to a wide range of schemes including schools, university accommodation, employment developments, urban regeneration projects and a fully accessible woodland activity centre for people with additional needs and physical disabilities. Earlier in her career, Fiona worked across several landscape architecture practices on projects including road schemes, parks, offices, quarries, large gardens and zoological developments.

Fiona specialises in conceptual and detailed landscape design, with particular expertise in planting design and hard landscape detailing. She leads and supports projects through planning, technical and implementation stages, combining creative design thinking with extensive technical knowledge developed throughout her career. She is particularly passionate about creating attractive, well-considered spaces that respond to site character and constraints, enhance biodiversity and contribute positively to user wellbeing.

Her recent work includes the detailed landscape design for the Pressworks Plot 1 student accommodation scheme at RIBA Stage 4, the South Derbyshire Growth Zone A50 Link Road, and the Bishop’s Stortford North housing development from planning through to implementation. She has also worked on employment-led green infrastructure projects at Chatterley Park and ecology-led mitigation schemes including the Peacock Hay Great Crested Newt Reserve. Fiona regularly collaborates with multidisciplinary design teams and enjoys solving the technical challenges presented throughout the design process.

Fiona holds a BA (Hons) in Landscape Architecture and a Postgraduate Diploma in Landscape Architecture and is a Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI). Alongside her project work, she mentors candidates through the Landscape Institute’s Pathway to Chartership programme.
