Claire has over 10 years professional experience on a range of landscape and environmental projects, including  landscape character assessment, habitat creation, public park regeneration, landscape and visual impact assessment, residential schemes and the co-ordination of environmental statements for major mixed use and residential developments.  Claire has worked in a variety of landscape practices ranging from a small scale private landscape practice to a large architectural practice based in the south west, and has carried out work at all stages, from inception to completion on site.

Throughout her professional career, Claire has always worked in multi-disciplinary teams, and works well with other professionals in order to achieve successful outcomes for clients.

Since re-joining FPCR in 2015, Claire has worked on ES chapters for large scale projects, including the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment chapter of the ES which accompanied the planning submission for a mixed use development of 2400 homes at Great Wilsey Park, Haverhill which has now achieved outline planning consent.  Claire is currently working on proposals for a residential scheme located within the High Weald AONB at Cranbrook, Kent which has involved writing the Landscape and Visual Impact Assessment chapter and co-ordinating the Environmental Statement for the outline planning application, and is now developing design proposals for the sensitive site.

Previous experience includes overseeing the construction phase of a public park in Loughborough which went on to receive a BALI award and Claire was also the joint author of the Hinckley and Bosworth Landscape Character Assessment which involved carrying out a full landscape character assessment for the whole of the borough, with stakeholder consultation.  The document achieved a ‘Highly Commended’ award from the Landscape Institute. Claire has also worked within a multi-disciplinary team which developed a new masterplan for the University of the West of England and the campuses of the University of Chichester at Chichester and Bognor Regis as well as designing landscape proposals for a new Academy and Primary School at Bognor Regis and overseeing construction on site.

Claire has been involved in a number of planning appeals and has written hearing statements, proofs of evidence and has given evidence at a hearing.
