FPCR have been providing the masterplanning and other multi-disciplinary environmental and design services on this Sustainable Urban Extension (SUE) project since 2007. We have worked alongside the client and South Kesteven District Council to deliver various plans and documents including an adopted ‘Masterplan’ SPD and other technical and environmental studies.

The proposed development is for up to 3,700 dwellings and 110,000sqm of employment space, together with educational facilities (including both secondary and primary schools), a local centre and associated infrastructure, landscape and public open space proposals. The site extends to 224 hectares on the southern fringe of Grantham.

The practice have prepared the Development Framework, Illustrative Masterplan, Design and Access Statement and landscape, visual, ecological and arboricultural assessments for the Environmental Statement, in support of the outline planning application. A Phase 1 residential layout has been advanced and other ‘Design Coding’ work, alongside advice on long term management strategies for landscape and public open space areas is to be provided by the practice.
