Principal Ecologist awarded Chartered Ecologist (CEcol) status

We are delighted to announce that Principal Ecologist Steve Roe has just been awarded Chartered Ecologist (CEcol) status by the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM). Steve joins a prestigious group of under 200 Chartered Ecologists which hold a higher standard than that of full membership of CIEEM and so the expectations of competence are higher. In order to be granted Chartered status, Steve has had to demonstrate through rigorous assessment that he is a fully competent and confident practitioner by giving evidence of continuing compliance with the Code of Professional Conduct, meeting certain competence requirements at both Accomplished and Authoritative levels and keeping up with regular Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.

Steve says “It’s an honour to be awarded Chartered Ecologist status after deciding on this career path whilst undertaking my GCSE’s 16 years ago and is a highlight of my career. The application process is rigorous and the interview is tough, as they should be, but I would encourage all full members of CIEEM to apply when they’re ready as the sense of achievement is immense. I look forward to continuing to promote the sector and the important work that we do of protecting and enhancing the natural environment for future generations”.

Director of Ecology, Dr Suzanne Mansfield MCIEEM CMLI says “I am delighted that Steve has been awarded CEcol status. Clients and others reviewing the work of Chartered staff will have even greater confidence that it has been undertaken by an active and experienced professional and the top of their field. We will continue to encourage and support many more of the team to achieve this very prestigious award”.
