Following Derbyshire Dales District Council planning committee meeting last night, full planning permission was granted for our design of a new build community pavilion at Ashbourne, Derbyshire. The proposals include provision of 4no changing rooms to meet national cricket and football team standards plus umpire/referee changing facilities. There will also be a clubroom with bar and kitchen which open out onto a large terrace overlooking Ashbourne Recreation Ground and the various sports pitches beyond.
The design has been developed by working closely with the local community partnership that will take over ownership of the site from the local council. We have also designed the building such that it could be built using a modular system of off-site construction. The scheme has received widespread local support and the planning approval will now help with the on-going fundraising applications. We are looking forward to progressing the design onto technical and construction work stages in the coming months.
