Dunelm is a fast-expanding soft furnishings retailer with over 90 stores across the UK. The company required a new headquarters offering excellent working conditions for staff, supported by a high-quality external environment, with landscape proposals playing a key role in creating a soft and welcoming setting.
FPCR provided landscape design services for the scheme at Syston, Leicestershire, which was completed in 2011.
The building is set within a comprehensive landscaped setting which incorporates native hedgerows and trees around the site perimeter, tree planting to the car park and central courtyard planted with trees and shrubs. The quality landscape has proved essential in providing structure and detail to the grain of the development, whilst also enhancing biodiversity and creating a pleasant environment in which to work.
