This week marks the combined 100 years of service with the practice, for Senior Directors, Gary Holliday, Suzanne Mansfield and Tim Jackson. Gary was the first to join Phil Rech in 1988 (within a total landscape and ecological team of 7 at the time). He was soon followed by Suzanne and Tim. Today the practice has over 200 team members, across 5 offices.
Asked for his thoughts on the milestone, Gary said “We are really proud of having worked together for so long and having helped the practice grow to what it is today. We always have good laugh and enjoy working together. As the practice has grown, it has provided us with lots of opportunities. We hope it continues to do the same for future generations”.
Suzanne added “When we started, this practice recognised the value of its young staff and gave us the opportunities to thrive. It provided a level field and encouraged and listened to us as individuals and allowed us to shape and build it. I hope the practice will continue to grow through the hard work put in by each and every one that works here and will be a place that everyone can feel a part of and know their contributions matter too”.
Tim concluded “I think we all recognise how lucky we have been to work with and alongside so many wonderful people for such a long time. There has been lots of hard work but also lots of fun over the years. What is particularly satisfying is that the values and culture of the practice that we have today were there all those years ago and have been central to the growth and success of the business.
Thank you to everyone that has helped us along the way….and just to add, as the youngster of the trio I haven’t quite contributed my fair share of the 100 years but I`m not too far off!”
Whilst the practice (and a lot of the team) has been around a long time now, we understand that you cannot stand still. We continue to learn about new developments and techniques in our professions to stay at the forefront of new initiatives.
The practice became an Employee Ownership Trust in 2021, and Gary Suzanne and Tim continue as Directors of the practice.
