Across June and July, two FPCR teams (Peaked Too Soon and Passed Our Peak) set out to complete the National Three Peaks, one undertaking the 24hr challenge, the other completing one a day.
Whilst one team were faced with thunder and lighting storms the other had to largely put up with sunshine and stunning views(!!!) however both teams successfully walked, jogged and dragged themselves up the three highest Peaks in the UK, starting at Ben Nevis in Scotland (4,413ft), on to Scafell in the Lakes (3,209ft) and finishing on Snowdon in Wales (3,560ft). For some, this was the first time up a mountain, let alone the UK’s three largest in quick succession and the huge effort by everyone involved must be applauded.
The challenges were undertaken in support of the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice based in Stoke, for which we’ve successfully raised over £3000!
A huge thank you goes to the organisers and drivers for both efforts and to the company for their support.
