FPCR were commissioned by Coventry City Council to undertake the landscape design services for the £3.4m replacement 1.5 Form Entry Primary School. The school was designed using the BREEAM Schools environmental assessment scheme, and achieved the target score of ‘good’ by introducing technologies such as super-insulation, rainwater harvesting, natural ventilation, and a planted sedum roof.
Working with CPMG architects and Brealey Green engineers, FPCR developed the landscape masterplan. The scheme includes a nursery play area, retained sports provision and new habitat areas. FPCR also carried out bat surveys on the redundant school buildings, and worked with a group of pupils to develop the detailed design for a quiet area as part of the school grounds.
