Snowdon Summit Visitor Centre, Wales

FPCR were a key member of the project team responsible for the substantial redevelopment of the iconic summit facility in Snowdonia National Park. The practice led the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) work for the redevelopment work, including the detailed landscape and visual impact assessment and ecological studies.

The scheme presented a number of unique challenges both in relation to the construction processes and methods and the EIA survey and assessment techniques. The scheme design carefully evolved in response to the special qualities of the summit and the resultant centre has reinvigorated the summit`s long standing visitor facilities, enabling people of all ages and abilities to experience the magic of Snowdon.
