The Larkhill Village in Nottingham has recently been home to the Channel 4 series “Old Peoples Home for 4 year Olds” . The programme has highlighted the benefits to younger and older people of intergenerational activity and relationships. Measurable improvements in physical and mental wellbeing were recorded for the older people, through the 3 month experiment, with developmental improvements with the younger participants. The Larkhill village managed by the Extracare Charitable Trust, is one of the largest retirement villages in the country, with a wide range of community facilities, encouraging activity and interaction. FPCR coordinated the planning application for the scheme, including preparing the Design and Access Statement, EIA and Green Belt Assessment.
