Here are some of our Ecology survey statistics from last survey season.

We carried out 2187 pond surveys for great crested newts and caught a total of 1895 across our four offices. We deployed nearly 33,000 bottles and on our busiest night we used 2187 bottles! Our ecology department is gearing up for the 2017 survey season and are currently making 2000 new bottle traps which we use to harmlessly catch great crested newts. This will take us to having over 4000 bottle traps ready to use this season. We’re now scheduling this year’s surveys which need to be carried out between mid-march to mid-June – don’t leave it too late!
