Ecologists help with major upgrade to Framlingham Castle

FPCR have been providing ecology services to English Heritage for 15 years on over 50 projects.

Our latest success comes at Framlingham Castle in Suffolk where work is set to commence on a £1.2m major upgrade to improve its visitor experience and public exhibitions with a new 40-seat café, improved exhibition space and the reinstatement of an original mezzanine level in the castle’s Poorhouse.  FPCR provided ecological services primarily comprising bat surveys during which numerous roosts of common pipistrelle, brown long-eared and Natterer’s bat summer and hibernation roosts were recorded.  Our expert advice and input prior to and during the design stage of the project resulted in works on the first phase of the scheme being able to commence without delays.
