FPCR takes part in RSPB’s Big School Birdwatch

Ornithologist Tim Meakin visited the children of Blackwell Primary School in Alfreton, Derbyshire this week to help them take part in the RSPB’s Big School Birdwatch. As well as spotting several bird species in the school grounds, Tim taught them about how to feed their birds at home and Miss Hatter’s class had great fun dissecting barn owl pellets to find out what the local owls had been eating!

The lesson was part of a wider topic on British wildlife and habitats that the class is working on at the moment.
