East Midlands Gateway – Taking Shape!

Construction works on the East Midlands Gateway Strategic Rail Freight Interchange (SRFI) are still progressing at a pace. A series of major buildings, highways works and rail infrastructure are all well advanced and planting and habitat creation has started on the 158 hectares (approx.) of Green Infrastructure. The GI stretches around our Lockington Hall office and will transform the appearance of the scheme as it establishes and matures.

FPCR provided the Green Infrastructure, landscape, visual and arboricultural services for this Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP).  A comprehensive visual impact assessment was supported by photomontages and view-shed analysis and the arboricultural services included an extensive detailed assessment and veteran tree survey.

FPCR have established a successful track record on SRFI and NSIP schemes, including at Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal and currently at West Midlands Interchange and Northampton Gateway.
