BURSLEM MARKET PLACE
FPCR
prepared the detailed urban design proposals for the regeneration of Burslem town centre in Stoke on Trent . In conjunction with the Regional Development Agency, Advantage West Midlands, the practice coordinated a series of highly successful public meetings and exhibitions culminating in the final design proposals. The new Market Place, which surrounds the 18th Century Town Hall includes a café, seating areas, multi use event spaces, lighting and car parking. The value of the work was £700,000. A below ground viewing feature of a kiln base once used by Josiah Wedgewood is incorporated within the external paved area. |
