SNOWDON SUMMIT CENTRE
Snowdon is an enduring symbol, known throughout the world and its summit is the highest peak in England and Wales . FPCR have been part of the design team responsible for the proposal to substantially redevelop the existing summit facility. The practice have undertaken the Environmental Impact Assessment and prepared the full Environmental Statement to support this significant project.
FPCR were responsible for all aspects of the EIA and for developing the optimum design solution with the project team. Extensive consultations and public meetings were undertaken as part of the process. Digital visual mapping was undertaken and detailed photo montages produced to clearly convey the potential effects of the scheme. The ecological appraisal encompassed lichen and moss surveys and consideration of the potential effects on the Snowdon Beetle. The ES also addressed the unusual nature of the construction and phasing process of this £5.5 million project.
