ENERGY FROM WASTE
Architectural, landscape and ecological services provided for the award winning Energy from Waste Incinerator at Tyseley, Birmingham . The plant accepts over 1000 tonnes of waste every day and incinerates this to generate electricity.

The high profile development is located within a densely built up urban area. Detailed visual, lighting and colour studies were undertaken by the practice as part of the design and consultation process. The building form clearly reflects the internal operational and functional requirements of the structure. The rigid configuration of the plant has been turned to positive advantage by the judicious use of colour and materials and by the carefully planned lighting.

The scheme won an Art for Architecture Award. The practice is currently designing a new Energy from Waste Facility for Sheffield
