After working for an established Planning Consultancy, Brett joined the practice to provide FPCR with additional planning and urban design expertise as a Chartered Town Planner. Furthering his interest in the urban design, Brett is also a qualified Landscape Architect. This has assimilated the connected disciplines of Planning and Landscape Architecture as part of the practices multi disciplinary ethos.

As a project leader on a wide range of planning and environmental projects he has overseen large scale schemes from initial conceptual masterplanning through to environmental assessment and submission of planning applications. This has included providing planning, landscape and visual assessment input for large scale commercial and residential schemes.

Areas of particular expertise include; urban design on major sustainable urban extensions and brownfield development. This has included producing a series of land use masterplans, through to indicative block and street layouts. In support of this, Brett has been involved in the production of a variety of design documents, from EIA Design Statements, Strategic Planning Briefs, Landscape and Urban Design Strategies and more detailed Design Codes. These have included illustrative material for standard principles of street character, block structure, scale-massing, open space treatments and the design of individual plot arrangements.
