All bats and their roosts are fully protected by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 (as amended) and the Conservation (Natural Habitats, &C) Regulations 1994 (as amended). You must not :- Deliberately kill Damage or destroy bat roosts Deliberately disturb bats, for example, by entering known roosts or hibernacula Sell, barter or exchange bats, alive or dead.

FPCR runs the East Midlands Bat Line covering the counties of Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Rutland. We provide information to anyone needing advice on bat related issues. The Bat Line receives hundreds of enquiries each year, mainly from the general public when bats have become a problem or a concern.   • Reporting Bat Crimes

You should contact your local police force and explain what crime you believe may have been committed. Make sure you write down the “crime reference number” given to you by the police.

FPCR are extremely grateful to all the Natural England Volunteer Bat Wardens within the East Midlands area who regularly undertake Bat related calls on our requests. The FPCR Bat team consisting of Kurt Goodman, Craig Greenwell and Kate Bennett are always open to contact from you all. Craig and Kate administrate the Bat Line on an alternative weekly rota and can be contacted in the first instance on 01509 672772 during office hours.
